Streetlights Team & Production House // Chicago, IL

We are a 3 man team from the city of Chicago - Esteban Shedd, Loren La Luz and Aaron Lopez. We are involved in our local churches and are active ministers, musicians, producers and fathers.  We have personally seen and heard the benefits of using Streetlights as a discipleship tool.

In the early 2000s, we met as students at the highly respected Moody Bible Institute, located in downtown Chicago. We all shared in the common desire to learn the fundamentals of our Christian faith and be able to go back and teach them to our under-resourced communities. Ministry and music would become the greatest factors in helping us shape how we would go on to teach Scripture engagement.

Our mission is to translate, teach and proclaim God’s Word
through creative communication and innovative production,
so that all people, regardless of educational background
or knowledge of the Bible, can engage the Scriptures.

Esteban Shedd // Streetlights Director

Esteban Shedd loves creative communication of the most powerful message that exists - the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether through his writing and music with Alert312, creatively directing Streetlights, or locally discipling in Chicago he desires that Jesus Christ is known, trusted and loved. To this end, he creates and aligns himself with other people to be on mission to spread the Gospel of grace through any authentic communication necessary and relevant. He is a Father to 3 ferocious boys and a husband to his lovely wife Iris. On his downtime, you can catch him building legos and listening to Fania All Stars.

Loren La Luz // Director of Operations

Loren is a native of Chicago—born and raised in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. A musician at heart, a percussionist and live performer with Chicago hip-hop trio Alert312 and full-time drummer at his church Chicago Tabernacle. Loren joined Streetlights' Team to help launch Streetlights—the world's first urban audio Bible and multimedia curriculum. He’s married with five children and is an avid Chicago Sports fan.

Aaron Lopez // Audio Manager

With years of urban ministry experience in Logan Square and Englewood and nearly a decade of involvement with Chicago's music scene, Aaron helped launch Streetlights—the world's first urban audio Bible. In addition to managing all the producers, vocal talent, and engineers involved with Streetlights, he is also the drummer and producer for the Chicago hip-hop band Alert312. Aaron and his wife, Susana, are members of New Life Community Church in Logan Square. In his spare time, he is an avid collector of vinyl records and a "rookie" cook.

Mobilizing Missional Creatives //

Producing our Audio Bible and Multimedia Tools is a monumental task. It requires vocalists, musicians, producers, videographers, writers, and editors working in conjunction to produce the multiple projects Streetlights offers. The result of professional gifts merged with the powerful content of the Word of God is dynamic! You have to listen, watch and engage to truly understand. The driving force behind Streetlights is our passion to see youth with low reading levels and limited knowledge of the Bible engage and learn the Word of God.

Building Our Local Intern Team //

Say whats up to Stephen Guzman, Stephen Sullivan, and Isaac Arsenault - our squad of Audio/Visual interns! Isaac and "the Stephens" are scoring, filming, shooting and contributing heavily to our upcoming audio Bible books, social media campaigns, and visual projects. We thank God for bringing Isaac, Stephen S. and Stephen G. into the Streetlights fold. Praise God that these three talented young men desire to use their creative gifts for the glory of God.

Missional, Multimedia Production //

We use audio, video and curriculum tools to communicate the transforming Word of God.

With these tools, our community of users are able to engage and teach the Scriptures in a relevant format. Streetlights was founded in 2010 and released the first volume in 2012. Our multimedia products are used by leaders and students who have a desire to learn and teach the Scriptures through a creative and dynamic means.

Our Parent Ministry & Mission //

We believe in life-on-life discipleship. Our tools are created as simple studies to help spark Biblical conversations in your discipleship relationships. We see our lessons to serve as a spring board for deeper conversation.

We take on the identity of our parent ministry GRIP Outreach For Youth. Streetlights is one of five branches that serve under GRIP, whose main aim is to break the fatherless cycle through Christ centered life-on-life relationships.

We are firm believers in that it takes the body of Christ to grow and teach the church. This is why we are so grateful for our partners.

In 2010, Tyndale House Publishers allowed our team to use the rights of the New Living Translation (NLT) to produce our first volume. We also received great wisdom and counsel from a label that was at its origin as well, known as Humble Beast Records. Through these relationships, it proved pivotal in getting us started on the right foot in becoming a production house.
